Green Heron Hunting - Anhinga Trail, Royal Palm (yesterday)
         I hiked the Snake Bight Trail today and spent a fair amount of time on the viewing platform at the end watching a Tricolored Heron and young Brown Pelican feed in the channel. My hopes of seeing Flamingoes were ruined by a strong wind that pushed the water out of the bay and prevented the high tide from flooding the flats. Evening at Eco Pond was rather uneventful.


Interesting Sightings

  The best bird at Eco Pond this evening was a flock of Lesser Nighthawks on the horizon. This was a lifebird for me but the views were very disappointing as they were simply dots on the horizons silhuetted against the evening sky. Hopefully closer views will come in the next few months. I also saw a Reddish Egret at Snake Bight along with a flock of American White Pelicans.
