The Project
This project began as an Honors Thesis while I was doing my undergraduate work at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Since then, I have continued to work on it off and on and the project will continue to evolve in the upcoming years.
My original plan was to create a photographic essay telling the story of the modern Everglades. Eventually, my thesis combined four essays with photographs to do just that but also to bring the complex science to the general public and further the understanding of this endangered ecosystem.
Today, the project has moved away from the academic sphere as I work to publish the book, a line of greeting cards, and continue to travel an exhibition of photographs. I have numerous other ideas on how to expand this project and I feel this will continue for a lifetime.
